In the middle of...

Updated: Apr 15, 2020

”Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Everything have a stopping point, when we have to make a choice or we run out of them. Nobody thought about living a pandemic, this is something that we don't choose or we don't even desire but it happens, and is in during of tribulations, crisis, difficulties that we find ourselves in the middle of. What are your reactions, your plans, or your choices in this journey?

”Life is full of choices”, we have heard this saying before, so what's the foundation of your choices? It might be base on your past experience, feelings, knowledge, influences, or even faith. We take our steps in many directions base on these choices and that’s when you will know how strong, week, solid, or shaky is your foundation. No matter the circumstances, or moments we encounter, the only thing that will determine the state of our foundation is going to be our trust.

What’s the value of everything that you own right now? Is it more than your own life? Or your life value is based on social status or even based on your possessions? Either way, both can be lost in a blink of an eye. the stock market is crashing, Lay off are happening, businesses are closing, people are signing for bankruptcy, and yet we are in the middle of. So where are you heading now? Is your trust is on your degrees and knowledge? How secure would you might feel putting all your trust on the government officials and our country leaders, or do you trust in the One who owns and holds the value of your precious life?

Is Him who defined you. Who gave you an identity and purpose. A plan for good, to give you a future and a hope ( Jeremiah 29:11). Have you thought about this times as one to stop; recap about what we been doing and refocus on where we you are heading? See, if we fix our focus on everything that we see around us we will lose everything because everything has a point of failure due to our lack of perfection.

Perfect love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18). So, where perfect love comes from? It comes from God because God is love (1 John 4:8) so in order to get rid off of any fear, any anxiety, hopelessness, loneliness, frustration or discouraged we need to encounter His unfailing love. That’s His nature. Perfection can't be changed, can't be corrupted, can’t be counterfeited. God can’t change and can’t be changed.

In the middle of all this God's way is perfect (2 Samuel 22:31). He is the lens through what we can see what we don't see. Let me explain myself; it is only by God and through God that we can see the vision of the future destiny that He hold for our life. The plan that was already prescribed for you and for me can only be accessible through Christ Jesus who will unfold this revelation to us. All of His promises prove true to us (Psalm 18:30). His peace, His love, His strength, and His presence are proves of His true promises.

So once again my question is; where Is your trust and focus in the middle of these times?

Having Christ as the Cornerstone of our foundation (Ephesians 2:20) doesn't mean or guarantee the end of tribulations, distress or suffering in our life and world today. He remind us of who overcame these things and over the world (John 16:33), He is Emmanuel ”God with us”. Your foundation will never be shaken, it will stand firm and strong as long as you dwell in His presence and truth. You will take steps and decisions with the confidence and faith that you have been depositing in Him. The guidance of the Holy Spirit will be upon you, helping you to make wise choices not based on what you can see but on what The Spirit has revealed to you (John 16:13). In the middle of all God goodness and perfect love are still with you and over you.
